Using the Manual β General
The purpose of this document is to assist customers and AGCO service agents in the efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of RTA-series tractors and their major systems. By following the detailed, chapter-based proceduresβand using the special tools listed where requiredβoperations can be completed within the times stated in the Repair Time Schedule.
Page numbering
Each page is identified by a code such as 10A01.1 (10 = chapter, A = section, 01 = sequence number within the section, 1 = page number). The issue number appears at the bottom of every page.
Use
For quick reference, every chapter (e.g., Introduction, Gearbox, Rear Axle, Electricity) opens with its own table of contents covering all sections and subsections.
Meaning of references
Numbers in parentheses ( β¦ ) identify parts and components.
Amendments
Updated pages keep the same page code; only the issue number and date change. Replace and discard superseded pages.
Service tools
When a service tool is required, its reference number is shown after the instruction; drawings for locally made tools are provided in the final sections of the relevant chapters (Service Tools, Chapter 14).
Repairs and replacements
Use only genuine AGCO parts. Non-genuine parts can compromise safety, breach local regulations, and void the tractor warranty. Observe all torque-wrench settings and replace locking devices if their effectiveness is reduced during removal. Genuine AGCO parts carry full manufacturer backing and should be supplied by authorised dealers.
