The Case 310G and Case 350 crawler dozers are compact yet durable track-type tractors designed for utility earthmoving, grading, and light construction. Built during the 1960s and 1970s, they established a reputation for reliability, ease of service, and versatility in small-to-medium jobsite operations.
General Design
Both models use a rugged welded steel mainframe with low ground pressure undercarriages, making them stable and maneuverable even in confined or soft ground conditions. The 310G was developed as a lighter-duty machine, while the 350 introduced increased horsepower and a stronger transmission to handle heavier workloads.
Engines & Fuel System
The Case 310G is equipped with a Case G148 gasoline engine producing 37 hp from 148 cu in displacement. The Case 350 features the larger Case G188 gasoline or D188 diesel engine with 42 hp and 188 cu in displacement. Both engines are liquid-cooled 4-cylinder designs, known for straightforward maintenance and dependable power delivery. Fuel tanks range from 17 to 20 gallons, providing adequate runtime for daily operation.
Electrical System
A 12-volt electrical system powers the starter, alternator, and basic lighting. Designed for reliability, the system is simple to service with easily accessible wiring and components.
Track System & Power Train
Undercarriage options include 12–14 inch track shoes with sealed chain links. The 310G employs a 5-speed transmission, while the 350 provides an 8-speed with two reverse gears, both paired with dry steering clutches and band brakes. This configuration ensures smooth maneuverability and effective power transfer to the ground. Ground pressure averages 5.5–5.8 psi, enabling work on soft soil without excessive sinkage.
Brakes
Both machines utilize contracting band brakes integrated with the steering clutches, ensuring effective directional control and stopping power.
Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system provides 10–12 gpm of pump flow, powering mounted equipment with responsive control. Hydraulic lines and components are designed for rugged use and ease of field service.
Mounted Equipment
Standard straight or six-way blades provide capacities of 1.1 cu yd (310G) and 1.3 cu yd (350), suited for backfilling, grading, and light earthmoving. Loader and ripper attachments further extend versatility.
